The infant, toddler, and preschool programs at First United Methodist Church have been a weekday ministry of the church for over twenty years. Through play and age-appropriate learning activities, we partner with families to help children grow physically, emotionally, mentally, socially, and spiritually. Our curriculum includes Heggerty and Handwriting Without Tears for 3-year-olds through Kindergarten classes. Handwriting Without Tears is a multisensory, hands-on approach to readiness and writing, language and literacy, and numbers and math. Heggerty Phonemic Awareness focuses on developing students’ ability to recognize, segment, blend, and manipulate the individual sounds (phonemes) in words.
This preschool includes a kindergarten program to help children progress smoothly from early learning to school readiness. We offer extracurricular activities throughout the week, including the Big Green Bus mobile gymnastics, Tennis, and Soccer class for an additional fee. Our three-year-old, Pre-K, and Kindergarten classes go to chapel weekly.
Our preschool is excited to offer a fun and enriching Summer Program designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and social skills in young learners. Children will engage in hands-on activities, themed art projects, interactive storytelling, outdoor play, and age-appropriate educational games, all in a safe and nurturing environment where they can explore, learn, and make new friends. Enrollment is open to children ages 2 months through rising 1st graders, and each week promises new adventures and memorable experiences.
