As we prepare to move through the season of Lent, anticipating Christ’s resurrection on Easter, we challenge you to get plugged in to a Lenten Covenant Group. All are welcome, and the are a variety of days and times that groups will be meeting! Please see the full list below, share the link with a friend, and submit your top three group choices below today! We will try to accomodate your first choice, but may have to adjust depending on space restraints for a couple of the groups.
Put on your hiking boots, grab your water bottle and join OXYGEN, FUMC’s inter-generational outdoor recreation group, as we hike SWAYBACK BRIDGE TRAILS, located near the shores of beautiful Lake Jordan in Wetumpka. Hike 1, 2.5 or 4 miles in the rolling hills and woods, where nature and beauty abound. After hike snacks will be provided, but please bring your own water.
*Meet at FUMC in the south parking lot at 1:00 p.m. to ride the church van (limited seating), or at the trail head, 98 Lake Jordan Dam Rd. Wetumpka, Alabama, at 1:45 p.m.

Friday, February 22 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. | Painting Workshop with Barbara Davis
Saturday, February 23 9:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. | Epworth Room & Reception Room – Congregation Art Show and Historical Display (this will continue on Sunday, February 24 from 8:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m., featuring photography from our Youth). 10:00 a.m. | Sanctuary – Jason Borders will speak on Our Faith Story in Architecture: The Sanctuary’s Witness to the Gospel. 11:00 a.m. | Sanctuary – The presentation of, Telling Our Story, an original play by Adrian Borden about the history of First United Methodist Church with some colorful characters you may have heard of before.
Sunday, February 24 4:25 p.m. | Sanctuary – Heritage Ringers, an audition-only group from Huntsville, Alabama, based out of Trinity UMC, will present a pre-Evensong concert. 5:00 p.m. | Sanctuary – Evensong, performed by the Adult Ensemble
There is no cost for Sprouts aside from $5 for supper each week.
Adventure Bibles will be available to borrow for any child who does not have one.
A reminder e-mail will be sent after sessions 1 and 2 with instructions for projects the children choose.
Drop-off in Fellowship Hall begins at 5:00 p.m. Pick-up in the Sanctuary at 7:15 p.m.
Parents are welcome to join us at 6:45 p.m. for closing worship each week.
