FUMC MONTGOMERY 2019 FALL BAZAAR

Wednesday, October 2, 2019 | Lunch: Noon, Shopping: 1-7 pm, BBQ: 4:30-6:30 pm

The 2019 annual Fall Bazaar is just around the corner. This marks the 41st year of this wonderful tradition at First United Methodist Church of Montgomery and we need your help to make it our best ever! Please mark your calendars for Wednesday, October 2 for a full day of fun, food, and shopping for the entire family.

All proceeds from the Bazaar are donated to local missions of our church and community. Last year the Bazaar raised $30,000 to support these important groups, and your help is needed to make sure our 41st Bazaar continues to thrive and have another successful year.

Please prayerfully consider volunteering your time and talents to our Bazaar this year. Volunteers are needed to help in all of the areas listed to the right. Click each section to learn more about the needs. If you would like to volunteer, please complete the online form above. We have a place for everyone and we need your help! Please let us know where you would like to be involved.

Heirloom Corner

If you would like to make a hand-made heirloom item (dress, bonnet, etc.), or donate an item, for this year’s Bazaar, please contact Anne Bloom at 334-462-9430. 

Silent Auction

The Fall Bazaar Silent Auction is always a great success, and we look forward to receiving more wonderful items this year. If you would like to donate an item, solicit donations, or help prepare for and/or work the day of the event, please contact Allison Godwin at 334-306-2797 or allison@allisonmakes.com.

Bazaar Marketplace

We need your help as we prepare for this year’s Bazaar Marketplace, full of fun gifts and crafts! If you would like to donate your time and talents to create gifts or crafts (ex: calligraphy, drawings, paintings, needlework, notecards, jewelry, etc.), help set up and decorate the room, work a shift during the Bazaar and more, contact Judy Head at 334-313-1363 or at judymhead@yahoo.com.

Frozen Foods

The Fall Bazaar’s Frozen Foods room would appreciate your favorite recipes: meat/vegetable or breakfast casseroles, Vegan dishes, soups, sauces and more! Fresh vegetables are abundant, so now is the time to put up peas and butter beans (quart size zip bags). If you don’t cook, please consider ordering from Mary Ellen’s Hearth and donating the casseroles. Casseroles are delivered to FUMC weekly, but you may also pick them up from Mary Ellen’s Hearth at any time!

Pans and plastic containers are available for pickup at the FUMC Reception Desk for casseroles and soups. No styrofoam please. 

Please label items with chef’s name, basic ingredients and cooking instructions.

Baked Goods

Do you enjoy baking delicious treats? If so, we need your help to make the 2019 Fall Bazaar a success. We invite you to volunteer by donating various baked goods for the event. Baked goods may be dropped off in Wesley Hall on Tuesday, October 1.

Children's Boutique

With children going back-to-school and preparing for the change of the seasons, we invite you to donate your gently-used children’s clothing (boys and girls clothes, infant to size 14) to this year’s Fall Bazaar! All proceeds support local missions.

Attic Treasures
Donate used or new items to Attic Treasures! Accepting furniture, small kitchen appliances, art, accessories, holiday items, sports items, electronics, glassware, mirrors, towels, linens, etc.
Items may be dropped off at the white house on the corner of Park Avenue and Cottage Place. Someone will be at the house to accept donations on the following dates and times:

Garden Room

If you would like to donate garden items (ex: pots, ironwork, statue, bench, etc.), dried hydrangeas, plants or bulbs, or if you’d like to volunteer to help decorate the room, work during the event or even serve as the chairperson for the room, please contact Kristine Jones at 256-345-6846 or kbj0007@auburn.edu.

Bazaar Luncheon & BBQ Dinner

All meals will take place Wednesday, October 2, the day of the Fall Bazaar.

LUNCHEON | Noon | Tickets: $12 (eat-in only)
BBQ DINNER | Catered by King’s Table Catering, Live Entertainment by Bama Skiffle | 4:30-6:30 p.m. | Tickets: $12 (eat-in or takeout)
KIDS MEAL | Chicken Fingers, Chips, Cookie and Drink | 4:30-6:30 p.m. | Tickets: $5

Purchase tickets online here. Starting on September 9, tickets may be purchased at the FUMC Montgomery reception desk during the week. Meal tickets will be sold in the breezeway on Sunday mornings, September 22 and 29, and on Wednesday evening, September 25, outside the Fellowship Hall. Checks can be made payable to FUMC Fall Bazaar.
