Dr. Jeremy K. Pridgeon- Senior Minister

Dr. Jeremy K. Pridgeon is a native of Wewahitchka, Florida.  He is a graduate of The University of West Florida, the Candler School of Theology of Emory University, and holds a PhD from The University of Alabama.  Jeremy is an ordained elder in the Alabama-West Florida Conference of The United Methodist Church.  Jeremy has served as the pastor of the Seale/Alexandria charge in Russell County, Alabama, as an associate minister at the First United Methodist Church of Montgomery, Alabama, senior minister of the First United Methodist Church of Wetumpka, Alabama, as the Pensacola District Superintendent, and as the Assistant to the Bishop and Director of Ministerial Services for the Alabama-West Florida Conference.  He is currently appointed as the senior minister of the First United Methodist Church of Montgomery.

Jeremy has served previously as a delegate to both General and Jurisdictional Conference. He has served as Chairperson of the Candler School of Theology Alumni Board.  He has served as the Vice-Chairperson of the Conference Committee on Episcopacy, as Chairperson of the Scholarship Committee of the Alabama-West Florida Conference Foundation, as a member of the Southeastern Jurisdiction Cabinet Consultation Design Team, the Conference Board of Ministry, the Montgomery-Prattville District Superintendency Committee, and Montgomery-Prattville District Committee on Ministry.

Jeremy currently serves as a member of the Southeastern Jurisdictional Committee on Coordination and Accountability, the Stegall Seminary Scholarship Foundation Committee,  the Huntingdon College Board of Trustees and the Board of Advisors for the College of Education at The University of Alabama.

Jeremy enjoys traveling, long-distance running, hunting and fishing, and college football and baseball.  He officiated high school baseball, softball, and volleyball for 15 years with the Florida High School Activities Association and the Alabama High School Athletic Association, and had the privilege of umpiring state championship games in both Florida and Alabama.

Jeremy is married to the former Abigail Garrison of Leesburg, Georgia.  Together they have two daughters, Alexis and Addison.  Abigail is a pharmaceutical sales specialist with Merck and Co.  Alexis is in kindergarten and Addison is in pre-school.

Worship Services

Worship is central to the life of First United Methodist Church, and the Sanctuary is at the heart of our church family.  Each Sunday morning we gather for services of worship at 8:30 and 11:00 a.m.
