Since it’s inception by Dr. Everett McCorvey in 1995, the vocalists of the American Spiritual Ensemble have thrilled audiences around the world with their dynamic repertoire ranging from spirituals to classical to jazz and Broadway numbers highlighting the Black experience. Composed of some of the finest singers in the United States, the mission of the American Spiritual Ensemble is to keep the American Negro Spiritual alive! The founder, Dr. Everett McCorvey, is a native of Montgomery, AL and holds the OperaLex Endowed Chair in Opera Studies and is Professor of Voice at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky.

Come join us in the Sanctuary of First United Methodist Church of Montgomery, AL on Thursday, February 20th at 7:00 p.m. for an incredible concert of awe-inspiring music presented by some of the greatest singers in the country. This event is free and open to the public, and there will be a reception following the concert.
