Oxygen Ministry Trip to Horseshoe Bend National Military Park | SIGN UP TODAY
Saturday, March 21 | 10:00am – Meet at Park; 8:30am – Meet at FUMC Montgomery for Transportation
Located just north of Dadeville, Horseshoe Bend National Military Park sits beautifully along the Coosa River, offering a wonderful outdoor experience in a historically important site in the formation of our state and the history of our country. Come join us as we hike the 2.8-mile-long nature trail that winds its way around the Battlefield and near Tohopeka Village, the site of a Creek Indian camp in the early 1800s. Those using the trail should wear comfortable walking shoes, a hat, a jacket, and sunscreen. Bring water and a snack.
We will offer transportation from the church departing at 8:30am. Those choosing to drive themselves should meet at the park at 10:00am. The hike is mostly level and provides a very nice view of the battlefield and the river. Sign up now and invite your friends and family to join us!
