Tables of Eight

July, August, September, October

TOE:  Getting to know our fellow church members leads to a greater sense of community within ourselves and within our church.   Tables of Eight, our newest church dining group, is new way to experience that greater sense of community.   In just four evenings over four months in varying groups of eight, you will get to know up to twenty-four people. 

TOE:  Once a month TOE members dine together.  One member hosts for a potluck meal, or makes arrangements to dine out.  Dinner guests rotate, mix, and match each month.  No two dinner parties will have the same group of people.

TOE:   The rules of engagement are few and very relaxed:

Registration is offered for singles and couples.

Choose to be a host for a potluck meal, or the group may choose to dine out.

Dinners are the second Thursday of the month, or the group may choose a different day.

Be a substitute member if a member cannot attend.

Choose from a list of substitutes when you cannot attend.

Bible Study Banquet

Monday, May 21

6:00 - 7:30 pm

All participants of our 2011-2012 Bible studies are invited to attend a banquet on Monday, May 21, from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. A meal is provided but reservations need to be made through the church office. A nursery will also be provided.

A New Study for Women

A six-week study for women will begin on Monday, May 21, at 10:00 a.m. This is a study of The Workbook of Living Prayer by Maxie Dunnam led by Joan Wilson. If you would like to be a part of this group, contact Joan at 272-2644.

Look, Look, Look!!

Are you having trouble reading the Tower Chimes? Does the print in your Bible or in The Upper Room seem to get smaller and smaller?

A Video Eye Power Magnification System has been donated to our church library. This equipment can magnify print by up to sixty-five times. It is very easy to learn to use. You turn it on, place your reading material on a platform and see your print magnified on a screen in front of you. We ask that before you use it, you get a quick demonstration of how it operates. If you are interested, please call Jeanie Key at 356-6888 or 717-6677 to arrange a time to get started reading small print again.
